Signgraving® Engraving Materials
Scott Machine has manufactured engraving materials for many years and if they don't
have what you are looking for, ask, they can make that special color that you need to match your
new office or corporate logo, or some other combination of core and surface colors.
Scott-PlyT Engraving Materials
Scott-Ply appeals to many different tastes with its variety of attractive surface
appearances such as matte warm woods, bright brushed metallics and matte granite,
among others. This mar-resistant material features an ultra-thin surface, making it
advantageous for detailed lines and lettering. The material hot-stamps reliably and,
as is true of most Scott sign surfaces, is easy to drill, punch and bond.
Scott-Grave® Engraving Material
Lustrous Scott-Grave, with its brushed satin-type finish, is as sturdy as it is stylish.
Widely used in key chain, luggage tag and other applica- tions where constant scuffing is a
problem, this flexible, stain-resistant material cleans easily. Its wide choice of designer
colors makes it ideal for any number of signage situations.
Scott-Spectrum® Engraving Materials
Textured Scott-Spectrum material provides a smart, professional-looking surface
that minimizes fingerprint markings. Popular because of its fade resistance and weatherability,
this micro-thin surface works well with fine lines and small letters. Flexible and shatter-resistant,
it's an ideal selection for both indoor and outdoor use.
Clear Scott-Spectrum Brites ® material offers an eye-catching, con- temporary look for a
wide variety of signage. A smooth gloss surface or a matte surface is available in either thickness;
specify when ordering. Designed for reverse, subsurface engraving. Spectrum-BritesT product
maintains a beauty that is timeless. The material's flexible nature makes it equally applicable in
indoor & outdoor settings. Vinyl lettering adheres well to the clear side of this material. See

systems requiring specific colors for engraving material or sign frames.
Scott-Phenolic® Engraving Materials
Rigid Matte Phenolic is a strong, glare resistant surface that's long-lasting and easy
to maintain. Popular for uses such as instrument panels, pipe and valve I.D. plates and various
high-temperature applications, the material withstands abrasions and is electrically non-conductive.
It must be cut with a saw. See available colors and thicknesses below.
Scott-Solid® Engraving Material
Scott-Solid one-color, non-glare material is widely used for ADA signage where high
contrast and low glare are requirements. The 1/16" thickness is used as a substrate for tactile
signs, while the 1/32" size with adhesive backing overlays for an easy cut out of profiled, tactile
letters. This chip and shatter-resistant material is impervious to stains and, like other Scott

high-strength, molded and textured plastic in five standard professional-looking colors.
Whether your inserts are engraved or vinyl lettered materials up to 1/8" thick or Scott's
own color-matched inserts, Sign-Mate frames easily adapt to your sign panel of choice.
Their square inside corners line up naturally with the inserts, while the rounded outside
